The Combiner allows for several dongle-based programs to be used at once (under SoftLink) as it provides 3 extra connectors.

Switching is automatic under SoftLink (each partition number corresponds to each slot number) or manually by pressing the "C-Lab" logo on the front, where a switch is hidden underneath! (used for switching when SoftLink isn't used or to otherwise manually force switching).

The side-connector (slot 1) is for other expansion devices (Unitor, Log-3 etc.), or for the Notator (or Creator) dongle as partition 1 under SoftLink is assigned to slot 1.

The other slots can be used for other dongle-based programs such as synthesizer librarians/editors and even non-MIDI programs such as word processors, databases etc.
